LittleFreedom asked:

My mom’s deck is old but sturdy (she’s renting too)… but I’d like to refinish the deck in exchange for their rent remaining the same for two years….

Before I open my mouth… just how much work am I looking at and where can I rent equipment???…

This is what I found on the internet…. didn’t look impossible.

Refinish a deck:

 1. Use a hammer to refasten protruding nails.
2. Trim raised edges with a sandpaper block, electric sander, or plane.
3. As needed, clean gray or dirty wood with a solution of 1 cup bleach in a gallon of water. Apply with a brush or broom.
4. Use a pressure washer to clean the deck, being careful not to damage the wood with excessive pressure.
5. Apply stain or wood preservative following the manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Apply wood sealer following manufacturer’s instructions.

12 Volt Sump Pump

jacquelineleeca asked:

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, and I have two dogs, one is 7 months old, the other is 9 months. THe 7 month old puppy is chewing up my deck. I was leaving them in their crates during the day, to crate train them. But they are getting to big for their crates, and we have a huge deck, so I thought I could leave them out on the deck. We recently laid down low grade outdoor carpet, bc she was chewing up the wood on the deck, and we thought she wouldn’t be able to chew up the carpet, but I was wrong, after less than a few hours out their, she chewed a whole in the carpet. What can i do to stop them from chewing, bc I want to be able to leave them on the deck.

Bamboo Steamers

The deck itself will be about 16 feet wide and the I envision the center of the stairs being 2 or 3 feet further out than the ends of the stairs, giving a radius of roughly 8.5 feet to the circle inscribed by each tread.

Is it possible to bend the wood across its width? If so, how? Or do I need to simply lay the boards parallel to the deck and then trim the ends?

Alcoa Vinyl Siding
