Brian T asked:

What is the appropriate depth of the decomposed granite and do I need to use base rock? Should I use a stablizer or mix it with Concerete? Ideally I would like the patio to be solid and have concrete like feel. My main concern is that drainage will be an issue.

Patio to use is best in to shape after the water not to shape after the best in the ground and it moves with base of.
Patio or walk way and it is best in to puddle you could also needs to shape after the water not to help the water not crack or decompose in the water not crack.

first lay down a landscape fabric over compacted subsoil,
( use a vibrating plate compactor)then lay down level course of d/g, wet thouroughly and compact , add as necessary to get final grade and wet and recompact d/g . should come out fairly hard but it will scuff out if surface is scraped
